‘Celebrating Cuba - 50 years of revolution’

“Excellent. Inspiring. Thought-provoking exhibition”

Nearly 300 people visited the photography exhibition ‘Celebrating Cuba - 50 years of revolution’ at Bolivar Hall, London, 2nd - 4th March.

Organised by Cuba Solidarity Campaign, in conjunction with the Cuban photographer Alejandro Gortazar, the exhibition consists of 50 photographs celebrating Cuba’s achievements and its people.

At the launch, Cuban ambassador Rene Mujicar Cantelar paid tribute to Gortazar’s ability to capture the light and spirit of life in Cuba. He said that the photos captured the essence of the Cuban people, seeing them live and work so positively, despite living under the 50 year old blockade.

Steve Cottingham, from exhibition sponsors OH parsons said “These photos inspire you to get on the plane today to visit the island and see Cuba for yourself”

The exhibition goes on tour across the UK throughout 2010. If you would like the photographs to come to your venue please contact 020 8800 0155 or office@cuba-solidarity.org.uk

If you are interested in buying limited edition prints of any of the images in the exhibition please get in touch.

CSC thanks sponsors OH Parsons Solicitors, Unison General Political Fund, the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba and Havana Club Rum.
