Summer Solidarity Brigade 2025

Experience the real Cuba! Be more than just a tourist. The Solidarity Brigade consists of groups from the solidarity organisations of several European countries.
Now is an exciting time to be going to Cuba and the brigade gives a unique opportunity to speak to Cubans from all walks of life, see the reality of life under the ongoing US blockade, and learn about the country’s economic and social development.
With free time to explore the capital and soak up the culture, with dance classes, film screenings and music. Not forgetting some time at an amazing beach.
The brigade is based at an international centre 25 miles outside of Havana. The accommodation is basic, sharing up to 4 people per room. This brigade also includes a 4 day trip to another part of the country.
A fantastic programme of trips, visits and discussion with Cuban people from politics, sports, the arts, industry as well as voluntary work and plenty of social activities will ensure that you make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime journey.
Cost includes programme of talks, events and visits, accommodation, transport, food and preparation pack in advance of departure. You need to organise your own international flights but we can assist with this.

Summer 2025 Solidarity Brigade will visit Sancti Spiritus, Santa Clara, the site of the Che Guevara monument and museum, world heritage city Trinidad and explore local development in Artemisa.
Summer 2025 brigade programme includes working in a rural area outside Havana alongside a local farming cooperative and others, as well as visits to museums and historical sites, plus talks on the current challenges of the US blockade, the economy, democracy and international solidarity.
They will visit the Ecological Research Station in the Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve to explore Cuba’s incredible biodiversity and how the environment is being protected.
While in Sancti Spiritus they will visit local industry, the hospital that was transformed from Batista’s HQ, and meet veterans of the revolution. They will also get to visit the city of Trinidad, a world heritage site, spending the important national date 26 July there, visiting Santa Clara and the Che Guevara museum and monument the following day.
The group also expect to meet representatives of mass organisations such as representatives of the Womens Federation, Trade Unions federation, artists and writers union and the young artists organisation AHS. There will be visits to a children’s home and a project for assisted living and meeting with the council in Artemisa to discuss local development.
With free time to explore the capital and soak up the culture, with dance classes, film screenings and music. Not forgetting a visit to thermal baths, a beach and river to swim in.
