Free screening of short film:

Sencillamente Korda / Simply Korda (Dir.Roberto Chile,2011) A short documentary about Alberto Korda, who photographed the Cuban Revolution until the late 60s and shot the iconic picture of Che Guevara.

Cuban cameraman and director Roberto Chile will be making a special appearance, on a quick visit to London, and after the screening he will talk us through some of his historic photographic work.

Chile has made a significant contribution to Cuban culture, producing a large body of defining images nd films, and has the honour of being the only cameraman chosen by former Cuban leader Fidel Castro to accompany him and document his numerous state visits.

The screening will be in Spanish with English subtitles.

Date: Saturday 9th November 2019

Time: Doors open 5.30pm. The screening will begin at 6.30pm sharp.

Venue: Sands Cinema, 82 St Marychurch St, Rotherhithe, London SE16 4HZ


This is a free event. The venue operates as a charity, so you are welcome to make a voluntary donation. Tea and coffee will be available beforehand, but they don't do food or alcohol. Fortunately there's a really fab historic pub next door - The Mayflower - where we will relocate immediately after the event at approximately 8:15pm.
