Leeds CSC relaunch & film screening

Join us for the relaunch of the Leeds Cuba Solidarity Campaign local group. For full information, visit the event page here.
The short film, 'Maestra', about the literacy campaign launched in 1961 in Cuba will be screened, followed by guest speakers including:
- H E Bárbara Montalvo Álvarez, Ambassador of Cuba in the United Kingdom
- Richard Burgon MP for Leeds East and member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Cuba
- Fiaz Rashid, member of the National Education Union (NEU) who was recently in Cuba on an NEU delegation
- A member of the 'Young Trade Unionist May Day Brigade' (a delegation of young trade unionists who visited Cuba from 23 April 2023 to 7 May 2023)
Food and refreshments (including some complimentary Havana Club rum) will be served. There is a lift in the Unite the Union offices for disabled access.
