More than 200 years since the Monroe Doctrine of the US imposing its power over its ‘backyard’, the people of the region are still engaged in an epic struggle to break free from these chains. The prize is control over their own future and resources, determined by their own efforts, free from external interventions and aggression. It is more important than ever that people across Britain and Europe understand and support this struggle.
