The US has launched an illegal bombing of Venezuela and kidnapped Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro and his wife. This is an act of war and a flagrant violation of international law.
The UK government is complicit. By refusing to condemn the attack and by backing Trump’s actions, it is giving political cover to US aggression.
After years of sanctions, coups and destabilisation, Washington has now escalated to open military assault. This threatens peace across Latin America and the Caribbean and is a direct attack on Venezuela’s sovereignty – and on Cuba.
We must respond now.
