CSC banned from running Rise stage
Campaign News | Saturday, 21 June 2008
Letter from CSC Director.
Dear friends,
You may have read reports in the press regarding CSC and the Rise Festival. Unfortunately, Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London has decided to stop the CSC Latin American music stage at the festival in July. We have protested this decision but unfortunately we have to notify you that we will not be able to run the Big Cuba Fiesta stage this year.
In the light of the Mayor's decision, our partners in the event, Unite the Union, have also now withdrawn their support from the festival.
We are extremely sorry for the late notice but as you will appreciate this matter is completely beyond our control.
A huge thank you to all who have volunteered their support over the years with this event.
We do ask you to protest this decision to Boris Johnson at: mayor@london.gov.uk
