The tripartite group in charge of rebuilding Haiti’s healthcare system met in Havana Wednesday, to talk about details of the $650 million program.
At their fourth meeting since establishing the cooperation, health officials from Haiti, Brazil and Cuba toured a policlinic in the Vedado suburb of Havana and visited the Instituto de Higiene, Epidemiología y Microbiología. The main objective of the meeting was to find models for Haiti within Cuba’s healthcare system, according to Juventud Rebelde.
Cuba, which has had a long-time medical presence in Haiti, is in charge of implementing the Venezuela- and Brazil-funded program.
