Join Sheffeild CSC to help raise funds for the Viva La Educacion appeal.
Speaker Fiaz Rashid was part of the National Education Union delegation that visited Cuba in October 2023 very soon after Hurricane Ian struck the country. During the first part of the evening we'll be showing Maestra, the wonderful film that documents the development of the literacy campaign in Cuba. Fiaz will then share his experience following his recent visit and take questions.
Given the succession of devastating events that have shaken Cuba over the past year, together with the crippling effects of the blockade Cuba needs our solidarity more than ever!
The intention is to raise funds for essential classroom and teaching equipment, to be shipped to Cuba in 2023.
Please help us make this event a success by sharing the attached leaflet but more importantly joining us in person. We will have our stall set up, so why not use this opportunity to stock up with Cuban coffee, chocolate and other gifts.
