Joanne Galazka, Regional Women’s and Equalities Officer, helped launch the Grassroots Sports initiative after visiting a special school during the Cycle Cuba Experience in November. Joanne said the group wanted to do something following the visit as “we know access to grassroots sport can change lives and inspire young people in so many ways. As a union that is international in everything it does, I would be so proud for Unite to play our part in helping make a difference for young people in Cuba.” Unite have a special leaflet for use with Unite branches which can be downloaded here or requested from the CSC office by emailing campaigns@cuba-solidarity.org.uk

Equipment bought through this appeal will be added to the containers that will be shipped to Cuba in April as part of Viva la Educacion.
