Osnay Miguel Colina, General Secretary of the CTC will speak at TUC Congress in September
The General Secretary of Cuba’s trade union confederation, the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC), will be a guest of TUC Congress in Brighton from 12-16 September.
Osnay Miguel Colina will address 600 delegates representing 47 British unions during Congress and speak at the Cuba Solidarity Campaign fringe meeting alongside General Secretaries from major British unions.
Motion 76 End the Siege on Cuba is due to be debated after Osnay addresses conference on Wednesday morning. It condemns the US oil siege and threats against Cuba and calls on the British government to oppose the extra territorial application of US sanctions, reject any US military intervention and provide humanitarian assistance to the Cuban people. The motion also asks British unions to support CSC campaigns and appeals.
Although TUC Congress and the CSC fringe are only open to delegates, Osnay’s speech and the Cuba debate can be watched live on Congress TV on Wednesday 16 September from 9.30am.
