Summer Solidarity Brigade 2026

Experience the real Cuba! Be more than just a tourist. The Solidarity Brigade consists of groups from the solidarity organisations of several European countries.

Now is an exciting time to be going to Cuba and the brigade gives a unique opportunity to speak to Cubans from all walks of life, see the reality of life under the ongoing US blockade, and learn about the country’s economic and social development.
Summer 2026 Solidarity Brigade visits the Che Guevara monument and museum in Santa Clara, meets artists and environmentalists in Cienfuegos, explores local development in Artemisa, as well as participating in activities in Havana marking 100 years since Fidel Castro’s birth.
Summer 2026 brigade programme includes some work sessions in a rural area outside Havana alongside a local farming cooperative, as well as visits to historical sites, plus talks on the current challenges of the US blockade, cultural colonisation and international solidarity.
While in Santa Clara the brigade will meet veterans of the revolution, visit El Mejunje the LGBTQ cultural centre, and visit the Che Guevara monument and museum. In Cienfuegos the brigade will meet artists and environmentalists and learn about ‘Task life’, the island’s strategies to confront climate change. Back in Havana the brigade will participate in 4 days of activities marking 100 years since the birth of Fidel Castro.
The group also expect to meet representatives of mass organisations such as the Federation of Cuban Women, Trade Unions federation, artists and writers union, and educators and health workers who have been in international missions. There will be visits to a children’s care home and a project for assisted living and meeting with the council in Artemisa to discuss local development.
With free time to explore the capital and soak up the culture, plus dance classes and film screenings.
The brigade is based at an international centre 45km from Havana. The accommodation is basic, sharing up to 4 people per room. This brigade includes a 3 day trip to Santa Clara and Cienfuegos.
