Want to know about the recent economic changes in Cuba? Come to the talk 'Updating Cuba's Economic Model' with special guest speakers Dr Steve Ludlam and Dr Emily Morris after the CSC AGM on Saturday 14th June in London.

10am - 1pm

CSC AGM is open to all members and friends. It is a very interesting day with a variety of speakers, films and contributions and I would strongly encourage all members and friends to come along if possible.

Talk: Updating Cuba’s Economic model

With special guest speakers Dr Steve Ludlam and Dr Emily Morris

Dr Steve Ludlam is Senior Lecturer in Politics at Sheffield University. He is a member of the Cuba Research Forum and an honorary member of the Faculty of the Third Age, University of Havana. He is co-editor of Reclaiming ‘Our America’: Radical Social Democracy in Latin America in which he wrote the chapter ‘Cuban socialism: recovery and change’ and edited the 2011 update of ‘Cuba’s labour relations’ booklet published by IER.

Dr Emily Morris is Research Associate and Lecturer in Economic Development of Latin America and the Caribbean at UCL. Her doctoral thesis was on Cuban economic policy and performance after 1990 and teaches amongst other courses ‘Latin American Economics: Beyond Neoliberalism’ and ‘The Transformation of Cuba’.
