Visit by Party leader deepens relationship
Havana, Dec 20 (Prensa Latina) The Speaker of the Cuban Parliament, Ricardo Alarcon, and Lou Gan, member of the Chinese Communist Party (ChCP) Permanent Committee Political Bureau, have agreed that their countries should further foster their friendly bonds.
Alarcon, who met the visiting Chinese party leader at Havana?s Hotel Nacional on Monday, highlighted that Gan?s visit is an expression of friendship and cooperation.
For his part, Lou expressed his hope that the Cuban and Chinese legislative assemblies expand bilateral links and work together to improve mutual knowledge and develop cooperation.
On Monday, Cuba and China signed a six million dollar agreement for economic and technical cooperation. Under the accord, the Cubans will purchase general supplies and raw materials, and carry out bilateral projects with their Chinese partners.
Previously, Lou met with his counterpart Jose Ramon Machado and honored Cuban National Hero Jose Marti at the Revolution Square monument.
China is currently Cuba?s second business partner covering a broad spectrum of fields.
